About Comtec

ComTec’s HVA solution is targeted at local government bodies prepare for and respond to disaster management scenarios. Using the HVA platform, all hospitals would be able to conduct an annual review of all possible hazards and report their readiness. The local governments can assess the disaster preparedness across the various institutions at city, county and state level and respond effectively when critical situations arise. Divami was picked to define the UX and Design of the HVA application, and in addition, we also helped develop the UI.

Our Approach

ComTec had provided a requirement document, but our first challenge was to identify and finalize a huge set of existing flows that had to be simplified and streamlined. This involved a lot of brainstorming and collaborative work with ComTec′s India and US teams before we finalized the overall flows. We then redefined the overall Information Architecture of the HVA tool and established patterns that reduce the overall cognitive load and at the same time introduced various visual cues and metaphors to ensure smoother usage of the tool. We arrived at the boundaries of implementation early so that our responsive solution catered to the target form factors without compromising on the overall UX of the HVA tool.

The Details

We helped ComTec with our end to end UX services, which comprised of Interaction design, UI design, and UI development. The team comprised of a Design strategist and a UX/UI designer. The development team comprised of 4 members, including a Development Lead, UI developers, and QA. The design and development engagement was over a period of 5 months, and the front end framework for the project was Kendo.
